Without tools it is almost impossible to build a layout. Each model railroader owns at least a small toolbox with a minimum of general tools. For some particular jobs their are more specialized tools available, that can not be done without them.

Then there are plenty of tools that will make the job easier, but not really necessary to have. Then again it's easy when you do have them.

I divide the tools in 5 different categories.

General tools	Modeling tools		Elecronic tools
Wood working tools		Metal working tools
